📦 GitHub Setup

Push BetterLearn to your own GitHub repository for version control and deployment integrations.

📋 Prerequisites

  • GitHub account
  • Git installed on your computer
  • BetterLearn source code extracted

🚀 Setup Steps

Create Repository

Go to GitHub → New Repository. Name it (e.g., "betterlearn"). Leave empty - don't initialize with README.

Initialize Git

Open terminal in BetterLearn folder:

cd path/to/betterlearn
git init
git add .
git commit -m "Initial commit"

Push to GitHub

git remote add origin https://github.com/YOUR-USERNAME/betterlearn.git
git branch -M main
git push -u origin main

Security

Never commit .env.local to GitHub. It's already in .gitignore.

🔄 Keeping Updated

When you make changes:

git add .
git commit -m "Description of changes"
git push

🔗 Integration

With your code on GitHub, you can now:

  • Deploy to Vercel (auto-deploys on push)
  • Set up CI/CD pipelines
  • Collaborate with team members
